Last week in Bon Mots, we taught you how to pay a compliment in French.

This week, inspired by both the Golden Globes and some very obvious Oscar snubs, we'll suggest a person you should compliment: Your favorite film director - in French, that's la cinéaste preferée.

So whether yours is Sofia Coppola, Kathryn Bigelow, Jean Luc Godard, or Ben Affleck (who's definitely our favorite something...) you can start flattering their work... en français!
