If you’ve ever flipped through an American magazine, you’ve probably seen Vanessa Paradis. The 40-year-old is often featured in Vogue, thanks to her incredible style and seemingly endless Chanel campaigns. (She booked her first one at age 20, and she still works with Mr. Lagerfeld now.) And then there’s her near-constant tabloid presence, especially after her long relationship with Johnny Depp ended last year. Most recently, Paradis has been splashed across fashion blogs thanks to her new gig, as the latest face of H&M.
But before all of this, Paradis was a singer and actress. After recording her first hit Joe Le Taxi at 14, she went on to release ten albums, with another slated to launch this year. Meanwhile, she’s been lauded onscreen ever since her first movie role, as the Lolita-like orphan Mathilde in 1989’s Noce Blanche. (She won a César Award for Most Promising Actress for the role.)
Paradis currently lives in Paris with her children, Lily Rose and Jack Depp.
