There is an '80s pop song by Huey Lewis that goes, "The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades." We suspect Michael Kors was listening to it while creating his Spring 2013 collection, because not only were the clothes packing some serious wattage with their primary-colored hues, but Kors created some mega sunglasses that looked like laboratory goggles for some ultra-chic fashion experiment. Claire was front row with Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis, and the Tony Award winner Nina Arianda, who's currently filming a biopic on Janis Joplin. Everyone seemed to adore all the richly colored clothes, but take a tip from the models backstage - if your outfit matches a Crayola box, keep the makeup neutral. A little bit of Clarins Color Quench Lip Balm in Peach Nectar will go a long way.
Next it was off to Jeremy Scott, where there were so many flashbulbs going off at once, we feared the fire alarms at Milk Studios would start ringing. We sat across from Paris Hilton, Tyra Banks, The MisShapes, Swiss Beatz, and Sky Ferreira, although our favorite attendee was probably the electro musician Grimes, with whom we're all obsessed. The theme of the show was Arab Spring and the collection was a brilliant mash-up of veils, bustiers, coin prints, and of course, expertly-applied kohl eyeliner - but by now, you know all about that.
Finally, we headed into Proenza Schouler, where patchwork leather, grometted cocktail dresses in contrasting photo prints, and pops of neon lime made us thrilled. All we want is everything - but at least that's a familiar feeling for us...
