Last year in London, Jimmy Choo made pandas a high-fashion symbol by stamping them on bags, scarves, and shoes in celebration of the artist Rob Pruitt.  

This year, the pandas remain but the label has changed.  Last night at the Standard Hotel in New York City, Thierry Mugler launched an exclusive bag for Shopbop called The Muglerette M.  Designed by creative director Nicola Formichetti and featuring pink pandas scrawled across the leather, the crossbody bag has already been scooped up by Lady Gaga, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, and Leandra Medine - aka The Man Repeller.  (Claire Courtin-Clarins also has one in her closet.)

But while pandas are always cute, the panda-eyed effect one gets from staying out late is hardly considered chic.  Refinery 29's Anne-Georgia Greenberg admitted "My curfew is 9pm," while fashion writer Natacha Steven Darty had a different strategy for combatting puffy eyelids and dark under-eye circles:  "I use Eye Contour Gel every morning, obviously!"
